Zito Mowa
Kgodisho ‘Zito’ Mowa is a house and hip-hop producer and graphic designer who recent entrance into beat making and music production has brought a much need breath of fresh air into the Joburg Hip hop scene. His laid-back beats and cool demeanour have certainly made him one to look out for.
Andy Mkosi
Andy Mkosi is a firm favourite amongst Cape Town hip hop fans. The queer photographer and rapper who is known for her edgy songs and politically charged lyrics is continuing to set the bar high for young new age rappers. Her latest offering This audio is visual is a rhythmic selection of pulsating hip hop tracks that have a politically conscious message blended with catchy beats that change in tempo as the songs progress.
Poetic
Thami Mozolo or Poetic is a rapper and poet based in Joburg and his recent EP BLACKep is a politically conscious mix of poetry and hip-hop. The nine-track EP is an affirmation of the black experience and its excellence and it is driven by beats the replicate the 90’s era with their hard beats and quick bars with a poetic flow.
